- Description: You will learn, step-by-step, how to create your artwork from a photograph and capture its mystical mood and atmosphere by working from lightest values to the darkest and maintaining true pigment while creating the translucency of mist. Not every photograph becomes a successful painting no matter how striking and appealing the photograph itself may be. A key objective of this workshop will be to solve the mystery and learn what features to look for to make a great photograph, an even greater painting. The instructions will also include colour mixing, colour schemes and working with limited palettes. During the first session of the workshop (the Gathering Session) you will meet the instructor and other attendees, get an overview of the project and obtain a detailed material list. Also, a line drawing template will be provided as well as a video describing the preparation of your medium (canvas or board). The following two sessions will include live lessons supported by pre-recorded video instructions and questions and answers as you paint along. You will also be provided with email support between sessions. A video recording of this workshop will be available to the attendees for reference.
