Ben Lachapelle

Benjamin Lachapelle is an autistic artist and author/illustrator of children’s books from the Laurentians. He calls himself an “Animal Knower” as animals are his passion. He paints, sculpts, illustrates & writes stories about animals from his unique perspective.

Diagnosed with classical autism at age 3, Ben began using art as a way to communicate & express himself. He channels his feelings into his artwork, which is multifaceted & diverse, but always centered on animals and the environment.

When not creating, Ben devotes his time and creative energy to volunteering in his community, promoting autism acceptance, neurodiversity and creating a more caring & inclusive world for animals and people with different abilities.
